Merci Makuu, I run normal VGA. However I find the Tga icons don't show very well in the tray area by iL even in 32x32 tga format.

Hi everybody. I just bought a nice x51v and I really love it. I would like to place some icons on the taskbar like some of you have, but I haven't found the way to do it. Can somebody teach me how to do this, please?

Thanks.

I don't know if it's called the taskbar, but I'm talking about the bar above the softkeys where the wifi and bt icons are placed.

Thanks again.

It is called the System Tray and I use iLauncher to place icons there.
  1. Create an iLauncher tab. Call it BAR or TRAY or something
  2. Add the shortcuts for those apps you want icons to this tab
  3. In the iLauncher general settings, set the Shell Tray Tab to be this tab
  4. OPTIONAL: Also in General Settings, check the box to Exclude Tray Tab from Main Display
  5. OPTIONAL: If you are running iLauncher as a PocketBreeze tab
    • In the PB Tabs Control Settings, make iLauncher's Loading Method Static
    • In the iLauncher settings, under Tweaks
      • Check Refresh screen after minimize
      • Make Refresh automatically after loading a Half second
      • Uncheck Defer Loading of Icons

Thanks a lot, but is that the only way to place them on the system tray? Can you tweak the registry or place .lnk's somewhere? I have Pocket Informant and WebIS Mail and those are the only programs that place icons there.

There are some programs that do that, you have found a couple of them. There may be other programs that enable this like iLauncher does, but I'm unemcumbered by knowledge of them as I am regarding tweaks to accomplish this. Sorry! If you find alternatives, or someone else knows of alternatives, post them and thereby encumber me!

I just found a program called PHM Tray Launch. Google it and check it out. I haven't tried it, but its for WM5 and used to put icons in the System tray down the wifi and bt icon. Its prolly less of a memory hog then iLauncher if all you want is that one option.
