mine looks so basic compared to all of the screens on here!! man im such a newb!! but i dont want to install to much and somehow get a bad install of the software, so ill keep it simple, and i like simple too....how do u get new backgrounds???

You can download them from various places (often for free) just search via google for today screen themes or check out our resource here to see how to make themes using MS Thememaker (or McDeb Thememaker ....there are others too). You can use pictures from digital cameras, clipart, photos from the internet (the non copyrighted ones!!!!) or make your own images with various graphics programs.......This can be a lot of fun.....

Can someone explain the difference between themes and skins? From what I gather themes are the desktop or background and the skin is the top and bottom bars and menu windows. Am I close?

Alrighty I have mine posted under View my PDA. Once I stop being a noob I'll figure out out to post them into here. I styled it after som OSX themes I saw and combined elements from wisbar, spb pocket plus and some photoshopping.

I have tried using the default screen and changing to the different themes, but nothing resolves the problem. Where it says OWNER on the today screen, it shows up garbled or has stuff like .exe or .gif even though I have not tried adding a photo. I checked my owner information page and all is accurate. I found this place through Google in trying to find out if there was an answer to this... none so far.

Thanks for any help.

You have to install on a PC and do the work from there. It won't work on the PPC. Sorry about the confusion.

Hey Kerunt and Frenchy, or to anyone else who would know,

ON the top of your today screen, you have the word desktop and then some battery and memory indicators. Which program is that from?

Mine is this (after the word Desktop):
Volume control
Favourite Program #1
WisBar Settings
Battery
Time

All of this is from WisbarAdvance 2 ;). Its a great program :).

I thought I would post my today screen as well.
I use Pocket plus and wiz bar, with the Grant ocean theme.

Yeah! Hi GordonNL! I also really like your todays screen. Could you post what you did to get that screen. Please explain it in laymasn terms as I am a total newbie at this and I am about to receive my first PDA ever as soon as Dell ships it.
