I've got it set to the default Dell theme.
Are you by chance using the today settings applet to add the picture?

Try going into the built-in Pictures app and tap and hold on the image you want to set as your background and select Set as background (or something similar). It should open a screen that lets you adjust the transparency of the image.

I don't have my device in front of me right now, but if memory serves....

Yeah I'm an idiot see my reply above..

Ironically late last year when I started playing around with this custom screen thing, obviously inspired by all the nice pics in here I made an all black screen with 4 icons across and 4 icons down and nothing else at all except the top bar with WisBar Advance 2 should I too sue Apple?

Heavily inspired by what I had seen on here, I wonder if Apple engineers have been surfing on here too??

Hey, thanks

That was the problem. I was trying to set it going through the Today settings instead of the Pictures app.

By the way - is there anyway to get rid of the lines that divide the different items that appear on my start menu? They weren't visible before on the default backgrounds that go with the themes (I'm guessing they blended in) but now the lines seem to stand out on any pictures that are placed behind it. Any suggestions here?

Thans again for your help. Brad

This is my today screen that I have been working on.

You can click on the TodayBar at the top and it expands, showing current owner information, appointments, and e-mails.

1st icon: switches to agenda
2nd icon: switches to weather
3rd icon: pshutxp
4th icon: connect to wifi networks in range
5th icon: bluetooth manager

I knew how old it is. I posted my Today Screen from my old X30H right HERE back in Dec. 04.

My newest screen shot on my x51v is in my signature and at MyPDA.

I got thinking (in the hunt for a VGA PPC with phone built in and pref qwerty keyboard) if anyone here uses their PPC mainly without a stylus and with their fingers, and has thereby made the today screen accordingly? Yes in an iPhone fashion. (and option I have in my head is the O2 XDA Flame)
