It would appear I am one of a very few (only one?) reading (or at least posting in) this thread who also is interested in customizing a WM5 SP device (i.e. non touchscreen)...

I am really liking the style of the task bar on everyone's today screen with the round windows/start logo, date and time stamp and the soft keys bar at the bottom. How is everyone achieving this? The style and black color would go really well with the rest of my them and skin.

The software that makes what you are asking possible is called Wisbar Advanced 2 and can be found at Lakeridge Software. They also have a great community forum right HERE. Hope this helps. You can also find a lot more good stuff in MyPDA. You are welcome to check it out.

i would post my today screen, but i dont think i can.

its a picture i found on deviant art. its a naked woman with a sweet chinese dragon tatoo running up her side. i named my axim "serenity" so this fits well :)

Thanks I was able to figure it out. One question though. How did you get your date and time stacked? I really don't like how they are so close together on my screen.

Hey nateb,

Just go in to Wisbar Advance settings and choose Clock Settings. From the top drop down, choose "Display Small Clock". Make sure both "Show Time" and "Show Date" are checked. That should do it. Now I want to see a screen shot:approve:

Awsome! That is much better, now the numbers don't all run together. I'll get a shot up when I am happy with everything. It has denfinately come a long way since last week. I wish I would have found out about all this stuff earlier as it sure does make the device a whole lot easier to use. I think I quit using my x50 as much because of all the clicking that was involved. Thanks again!

Here is another question that I can't seem to solve myself. On my bottom bar the text entry box still shows up and it over rides everything (it shows up in programs that normally would hide it like core player or drop down menus). How do I fix this? Thanks!

Can you show me a screen shot of what you are talking about? I want to check and see if I have this problem also, and have just not noticed it. Anyway, if I can see what you mean, I can try to help you with it.

I'll try and get a shot up but what is happening is on the normal today screen I have the date entry mode between my two soft keys. I notice on your today screen that space is empty. Well when I go into a program the soft keys go away (normal) but the transcriber or whatever mode reappears. And sometimes it goes from being in the middle to going back to the right side and after a couple minutes is slides back over to the middle. It just seems like this should be disabled or something.

I guess I don't quite fully understand. The SIP button(keyboard icon) does not show on my Today Screen which is normal. But, it does show in most opened programs, whether it is in the middle or on the right depends on the particular program I have opened, and this is normal. Below are a few screen shots. If this is not what you are talking about, let me know.

Here is the first shot, this is what I get after opening wisbar. Look at the soft button on the right. Now, after opening a few programs the little data entry icon moves back over to the center. Rob, but unlike your today screen that little icon is present. And when I open up a menu that stretches down to that icon the icon actually covers up the menu.

Hmmm...I am going to have to think about this one. I have never seen this before. That SIP panel should not be showing on the Today screen. My first guess would be that you have some software installed that is causing a conflict. Can you tell me what programs you have installed on your Axim? And you may want to try uninstalling one program at a time to see if the problem goes away. If I think of anything else, I'll let you know....

Now I have a question for you. I see your two soft buttons are set to Calendar and Notes. Mine are Calendar and Contacts. Is there a way to change what the soft buttons are set to?

Thanks, believe it or not but you led me to the answer. I went into the SIP panel and marked hide and it went away. I just didn't know where to go to do that but I knew that there had to be a place. The weird thing is that it would show up even in core player when I was playing a movie on full screen. But now it's fixed

To change the soft keys I downloaded a program called "softkeyappletex" which is below. I am going to change the calendar one too since it is one of my hard buttons but I haven't figured out what I want to change it to yet.

Here is another question. I like some of the side tabs that you all are using but I still want to keep the top of my screen the same with the owner info and tasks, upcoming appointments. Is there a way to add those tabs but have them only on the bottom of the screen?
