VGA Theme/Skin
Hi all,

Just thought I'd show you what my x50v screen looks like after 36 hours or so of usage. It's slowly but surely transforming into just how I like it. Let me know your thoughts and how it can be made better. The WA2 skin and theme is by Buzzard.

Can you please tell me the names of the plug-ins you are using?

I like the look of SPB Pocket Plus, but a lot of people are using Pocket Breeze on the X50v it seems. Is there a reason?

If you have a look in this thread, there seems to be an issue with pocket plus 2.2 for VGA devices. I've always used PocketBreeze with PI, and found it to be excellent. That and Wisbar Advance 2 is all i'm really using for today plugins as I don't want too much of a cluttered look with lots of buttons and tabs etc. I don't like Battery Bar, for example, for that reason, although it is a perfectly good program

Hi Adrian,

From your post it seems as if Pocket Plus and PocketBreeze are serving the same purpose - just wanted to mention these are totally different plugins and I've been using both for a long time and find them great together

Pocket Plus is a kind of task manager and PocketBreeze is a Today screen PIM solution (I'm also using it with PI).

You can download it from Handango (https://www.handango.com/PlatformPro...roductId=95186)

tabten5 - this is one great Today screen wish I had some free budget to get me a new VGA device too

Hey! I just posted a question about if they worked together or not. Seems I jumped the gun because you just answered it for me.

Thanks!

Guess that means more money being forked over for software.

Cheers

tabten5 - FYI...The latest PocketBreeze allows you to view the unread messages from ActiveSync mail now so that you don't need to include the 'Messaging' plugin on your screen!

yes mate I know....I just like the specific mail line on my today screen! That might change if there's another proggie that needs to be squeezed on and thus taking up valuable real estate!

I think those icons on top are actually the programs that are open.

Yep, Cheryl is absolutey right; they're just the programs that were running in the background. The actual look is achieved by WA2 (link above), and you can customise a whole bunch of things (like having the name of the running program as well as the icon.)

what plugin gives you the weather?

Do you have problems with WB Advanced 2.0 in "Real VGA" mode?

I'm not sure what weather plug in he is using but there are two that I know of off the top of my head - Pocket Weather and Journal Bar. I remember seeing a freeware weather program, but can't remember what it is called.

I'm using Weatherpanel, which can be found at Handango, etc. It supports VGA icons (as you can see above) and has a comprehensive database of world cities (even for the UK).
