True VGA Themes. No stretching necesary.
OK, I posted this as a side mention in another thread but I thought I should pass it along here as well.

At this link you can get true 480x640 WM2003 themes. This means no stretching or soft re-setting when running in true VGA mode (with either SE_VGA or Oz_VGA).

If anyone knows where to find more, please post and share the wealth. Thanks!

Hi All,

I just got my x50v a few days ago, and I'm definately having theme woes, among others. I downloaded a theme from this site, and it works fine. Now, however, I can't get any other theme to look right. It always tiles the image in the background and start menu. Even the built-in themes (i.e. bliss, which used to look fine in true vga mode) do this now. Also, any theme I make, even with an appropriately VGA res background, tiles. I'm not sure why it's doing this now and not before, but it's really annoying. I was hoping someone could shed some light on this. Thanks!

Are you running in true VGA mode or regular out of the box mode?

This was good info. I just installed OZ_VGA using your settings. Hard to read but it is nice to be able to see so much more. This will be great for web surfing.

Yeah, I dont think I'll be using real VGA.

It's good to be able to see so much on the screen, but for the sake of my eyes, I dont think I'll use it

I was having the same problems with the tiling of standard size themes until I went back into Standard VGA mode in SE_VGA and loaded the theme I wanted. After you have the theme you like just go back into Real VGA mode and it won't tile. Yes you have to do soft reset but that's no problem. You won't lose any data. Super duper. This fix has probably been posted before but I think it's worth posting again.

Oz_VGA scares me, because the other day I tried it out and I couldn't open any folders, or run any programs, I could do nothing in "true" VGA mode. I ended up having to hard reset my Ax in order to get it back to normal again. Has anyone else had this problem?

Another same thread? I am gonna tell you again. I have tried your settings and what I saw is not what I see on your website. So I still doubt the screens shots. Though I will give it a try again!

HendrIxus

OK,here it is. The icons/fonts are much bigger (almost twice as big) on the screen shot then on the 3.7 screen. You can't compare the two.
What is the reason of this? I used MagicSS

What are you talking about? This post of mine you quoted is from over a month ago. I can't help it if someone bumps an old thread to the top and you've never seen it before.

If you are looking at your PPC and hoping for the same height and width as you see in my screenshots, I feel sorry for you. I can't even begin to explain the concept of resolution to you. My PC monitor is 16" viewable flat panel with 1280x1024 resolution. The 480x640 screen shot will look a little different when it's not squeezed into a 3.5" screen. It's a resolution to viewable size thing. If you don't understand it, I am sorry. If you are saying I Photo shopped my screenshots you're crazy! Look at other threads with VGA screenshots and you'll see they are all bigger than QVGA screenshots. My goodness man if VGA doesn't work for you stop blaming me!

I wish I could help you. I've tried. I've posted what has worked for me. It hasn't changed. If someone asks on another thread I'm going to point them to my original comments on the matter. I won't stop because you don't like it.
