Splash Screen?
is it possible to edit/replace the 'boot' or flash screen, the Dell screen that shows up after a soft reset?
I'd like to replace it with another image if possible... anyone know how to do this?

Since that screen shows up after a hard or soft reset, it's in one of 2 places, either coded into the AOx ROM version, or more likely, it's hardwired into the graphics chip somehow. Either way, it'll be next to impossible to change.

Its hardcoded into the ROM...but it is possible to change it by hacking the ROM. Which...is dangerous but it has been done

Ok, Tierran, you've got my attention. Sure, hacking the ROM is dangerous, but I don't think any damage would be permanent since you can always just re-flash, right? so any idea how to try something like that, because I'd love a custom splash screen, just figured it was next to impossible.
