No install when changing theme
How do I change the today themes, without having to install the theme each time I change (even though I have already installed it) Could it have anything to do with me installing the themes onto a folder called Themes on the SD card?

Themes will not run from a SD card. Use explorer in ActiveSync and put them in the main folder. Then go Start->Settings->today and pick the one you want. The only "instalation" in copying them to your axim.

Themes CAN be stored and loaded from a SD card, provided that they placed in a My Documents folder. Do not place them within a subfolder of My Documents.

If you use a third party theme manager that supports it, you can install themes anywhere you want.

I use ThemeDream. Be advised its an older program and can be contrary at times on an X50v, but I still like it. Others mentioned are Theme King and Pocket Theme Manager. There are a couple of others as well that I can't remember off the top of my head.

Search this subforum (Themes and Skins). There are a few threads on this topic.
