Hi.. can anyone lead me to a source of skins for this media player? Their website/forum is totally unhelpful and non-responsive developers.. Their skin editor (which was made grudgingly available) doesn't work.. I've tried everything!

So.. if anyone is looking for a challenge... let me know and I will point you in the direction of the editor .. I was able to take the .skin file, convert it to .zip, unzip the files, convert the .bmp files to .gif, edit the .gif file in PSP, reconvert everything back up and upload the new .skin file to the x50v. However, the software doesn't even recognize the new skin exists in the folder.... so I'm not sure what is going on.

Any help/advice would be appreciated.. I would normally just give up and use a different software package.. but I actually really like many of the features.. would love to change the skin though.

I was the one that mentioned that you can change the extension to a zip file and view the images on Vito's web site and requested the editor from them. I believe the editor is necessary to reassemble the file into a format that the program can read, but I couldn't get it to work at all. I gave the info to the best skinners I know but haven't heard back from any of them. If any of them have success I will let you know

Great.. Thx Ken.. its so very frustrating to be so close and get like zero help from the developers... I feel like just abadoning the whole program just for this reason alone... but.. I do like the program a lot!

Hi Ken.. just thought I'd give an update. The developer over at Vito finally updated the post.. but of course.. said they have no time to release a working skin editor! I've asked how they possibly built the skins themselves and was hoping for the steps even without a user based editor.. but of course, I'm not holding my breath.

I cannot believe the short sightedness of this company.. a superb product that no one is using because they don't want to support it!

Anyway.. just thought I'd let you know about another dead end to Vito SoundExplorer 2005..

Yeah, I saw that. Thats too bad, we really weren't looking for a full tutorial, just how to open the d**m file editor so we could try to figure it out. I will update you if I hear back from any of the skinners I gave the info to.

Ok..I'm officially done with VITO products and their complete disregard to their customers. They told me to send a email to the skin developer.. but of course that message went with no response after 2 weeks..

Their latest message to someone else that posted was: "we told you we don't have time for skin editors now!" Basically.. stop bothering us about this.

Oh well.. they have a decent product.. but - their are freeware products (like GSPlayer which has replaced VITO on my machine) that are just as good and provide support above and beyond this company.

Its a shame... but - I'm done. Good luck anyone else.. and if you do get that skin editor to work....... please let me know!
