I just posted a link to a vga skin earlier today on this site somewhere. You should be able to find it with a search.

Ok cool... I believe skin support is coming.

You should email the author for more details because I have been lazy and not done this.

Cheers

Only 2 skins avaiable for VGA support.

One is in development on these boards, the other is for TRUE vga...you know, that stupid VGA that makes people blind.

LOL so very true

To tell the truth I just use the QVGA version with teh Kenwood Skin. OK it isn't 100% smooth but most of the time I have the screen off anyway.

Let us know if you find a souce for normal VGA skins for GSPlayer.

Cheers

well, my reason for wanting one is to see how it is done because I want to make one, but nothing I do comes out right.

** Yeah, hard to create a skin for something with no documentation or examples.

agreed.. i mean - it is free so we can't complain.. but.. I would really like to create a skin.. I created one for the non-vga version using the skin editor.. but, I couldn't get the bottom bar to change... so I gave up.

Well it's not too hard to make a vga skin with current version. I guess I can come up with some instructions.

Check back later today and I should have it up.

Ok, I've converted the greenpanel skin as an example so that you guys can make whatever skins you'd like. One note however, the bitmap images for a vga skin end up being a bit large. This skin totals about 1.5 Meg!

The process of converting an existing skin is easy:
  • I took all the vga toolbars and images from the default skin and placed them into the skin folder
  • I took the original portrait and landscape backgrounds and simply scaled them to 200%
  • I edited the .gps file to use all of the vga resources

That's it. You can now use all the images that I've included as a template to make your own versions.

If you have any questions let me know. Someday if I get a bunch of time again I'll make it so that it stretches a qvga skin but I'm busy these days sadly.

You can download the greenpanel vga skin here: http://www.cs.pitt.edu/~jmisurda/ppc...npanel_vga.zip

I'm glad you like the vga enhanced version, I apologise for not being a good skinner to have made any nice ones. Someone may want to PM M@rten to point him to this thread to encourage him to release his vga skin.

Jon

OK Kids, here it is...my iTunes-style VGA skin for GS Player

Let me know what you think.

This is for straight VGA ONLY, not that 'true' VGA crap. It will also not work on QVGA devices.
