Created theme, but today screen look a bit fuzzy

Hello!
I had a 640x480 picture that looked sharp and gorgeous. I used MS Theme Generator 2.0 to create a theme with it. Now it's on my PDA, but the image itself looks fuzzy. Too fuzzy considering I have my lovely VGA screen and all other wallpaper looks sharp.

Is there some special way I need to be saving this wallpaper? Is it because my original was a JPG, and lost the quality? Should I have made it into a Bitmap instead?

ps - I know Theme generator is for pocket pc 2002, not windows Mobile 2003, but I'm not having a problem with it.

pps - Seems it didn't give me an option to change the color of text in the Start Menu. It's white on white, and I can't see a thing! Help!

Thanks,
Kender

I believe in Theme Generator you can tell it the quality of the picture when you save it as a theme.

That's just if you save it as a JPG (the characteristic of any jpg, actually). I tried it as a BMP also, same result.

Thanks though!

Thank you!
That must be it, it must be saved as a VGA theme specifically in order to look that good?!

Cheers,
Kender

Follow up!
SPB's Theme Extension did the trick. Saved it as VGA, which doubled the size of the wallpaper.

Took a bit to understand the placement of the image on the wallpaper to get it to position correcly on my Axim, but now it looks great!

Many thanks for all the responses.

The only thing I can't understand is why SPB would give us all those presets for battery meters, etc., but not make VGA versions also.

Oh well!
Cheers,
Kender
