Please help with skinning PSShutXP

I downloaded the .cab file fo PSShutXP, moved it to my BIS and installed. On install it moved over to Program Files. That works fine.

I found a nice "Navigator"-style skin that I downloaded and moved over to the PSShutXP folder in Program Files. It doesn't seem to work. In fact, with that file in the folder, the program malfunctions(can't see it open when the icon is tapped). I found the skin here:

http://www.lakeridgesoftware.com/for...pic.php?t=1978

Any help is much appreciated. I really lke this skin.

You have to overwite the original image files within the psshutxp folder. This might be the problem.

That may very well be the problem. When I open up the folder, there are 3 files--the psShutXP.exe, file and 2 readme files(1 English and 1 Russian). I'm not sure which to replace. obviously the readme files are of no circumstance for skinning.

Thanks for the replies, Annejillian. I'm just not sure how to actually replace those files because I can't see them with File Explorer on my Axim or using Explore with Activesync.

They should be in the same location you installed to. So if you installed to program files then that is where the images will be located.

Please see me through this if I'm being dense. Currently, the software is in program files. As mentioned above, when I open th psShutXP folder there, I see 3 files. One is the psShutXP.exe file and the other 2 are readme files. If I double click on the .exe file, it only displays properties of the file. In other words, there are no subfolders in the .exe file.

Ok, if you don't see those 2 files then you will need to create them. Here are the two file you need to make. This is from a skin pack that can be downloaded from the Wisbar Advance 2 forums.
Attached Images:
File Type: gif psshutxp_skin_eng.gif (49.9 KB, 30 views)
File Type: gif psshutxp_skin.gif (1.6 KB, 86 views)

Have you actually tried to place the 2 GIF images in the psShutXP directory? When installing psShutXP it doesn't come with the 2 GIF's. The original design is within the program. If you add the 2 GIF's it reskins.

Simple. If it doesn't work, you have to look for a different version.

I finally got it. I thought all I needed was to transfer one .gif file. I didn't realize both had to be transferred to work correctly. Live and learn. Thanks for everyones help.
