Ok, my problem is this. On 03/06/09 I bought an app for my symbian S60v5 phone from Handango, and I received a coupon for a 25% discount on my next purchase.

On the mail it states
" *Offer midnight C.S.T. 3/31/2009 is only available on Handango.com.
The sale discounts only apply to the first billing cycle for subscription products. "

I noticed there is a "*" but there isn't any fine print on the mail I received to about the offer.

So what happens is that on 03/31/09 about 4/5am C.S.T I logged in to make my purchase, and I got an error saying that my coupon has expired.

I emailed their tech and the reply I got is

"Midnight on 03/31/2009 is about 5 hours before 5am on 03/09/2009."

Is there any thing about dates and time in US that a non-US resident need to know?

I'd say that's just a typo. Midnight (everwhere) on 03/31/2009 is about 5 hours before 5am on 04/01/2009, not 03/09/2009.

Thanks Julie. I emailed them about it and their reply was

Apologies, that was a typo. It expired on 03/31/2009 at Midnight and you had tried the code at 5am on 03/31/2009.

Basically, the code expires ON 03/31/2009 rather than at the end of 03/31/2009.

If that's the case shouldn't the expiry date be midnight on 03/30/2009, since midnight of 30th is the 31st. Hmmm....

Your understanding and interpretation seems right to me. It sounds like they just messed up.
