I have been messing around with Transcriber and really have come to like it a lot. One of the great options is you can set it up to launch a program by entering shorthand text. So what I did was assign a shorthand command to every program I have and map the input panel to a hard button. Now all I have to do is push the button, enter a couple of letters, and launch whatever I want from wherever I am! I love it, I don't need any more launchers taking up space. Also, mapping to hard button helps in programs like Pocket Excel when it can become frustrating trying to select a cell when Transcriber is trying to type.

How do you assign transcriber to a hardware button?

To assign it to a hardware button, Start>Settings>Buttons. Pick the button you want to assign it to and choose <Input Panel>. That will pop up the input panel that you currently have selected. The only downside is you have to use Transcriber all of the time if you want to launch programs.
