To everyone who expressed thanks - your welcome! I just couldnt keep it to myself.

To WM2003 users... You need the "netui.dll" file size 146KB in order for it to work. Maybe someone can extract it from a rom. I got errors when trying to copy it from my device.

If someone can extract the file I reccomend 2003 users place the file in a different folder other than windows. That way you wont run into the problem of overwriting a rom file. You just have to change the reg key to point to the DLL...

Quote:
Create string named: DLL
Value = \Some Folder You Created\netui.dll

Can you link to the orginal post? I'm interested in seeing who came up with this one, and if it's possible to have it show GRPS on/off as well.

Thanks! Heck of a find!

Icon14

Pretty neat trick!

Not sure what I'm going to use it for besides showing my carrier name and BT to be on or off ...

None the less, still a very very nice find... :approve:

I got here: http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=856404

There are a whole slew of regedits there. Aparently in the smartphone world this is nothing new. Its just the first time it was tried with a PDA. Oddly though, the regedit didnt work on my own TMobile MDA ROTFL, but it works on the Ax.

Help needed guys N Gals,

I have made the registry changes but the Today Plugin doesnt display.
Looking at the registry a couiple of extra strings have been added i take it this is the norm.

I am running an X50 WM5 A01

I have just looked in the windows folder and cannot locate the netui.dll, proberbly because of the upgrade.

the closest i have is a netmui.dll.0409.mui isnt this an icon?

If any on has the file could they post it.

Thanks All

The file is a hidden ROM file. If you have the MUI then you have the DLL.

Its a matter of, is it the right DLL file. On my MDA the file is 138KB and wont work. On my x51v the file is 146KB amd it works.

While it is nice, this info is displayed on the bottom of my screen. And the properties are accesable, not like the plugin. So really no need for the plugin.

No, but on WM2K3.2 there are icons at the lower right of the screen showing BT, WiFi, and Odyssey status. You likely already know the SSID to which you are connected. Nice to have the today screen option, tho! Nice find.

True, and I guess they will have to do. I guess posting the .dll is breaking the internet law, because everywhere I've looked where it was once posted it was taken down.
