I need to find out how to delete a registry entry that still remains from a now-uninstalled application. I've tried using PHM rgy editor and Resco editor (demo)and both say that the entry cannot be deleted.
I've looked all over Aximsite at various rgy tool tips from Menneisyys but nothing seems to be able to explain why some rgy entries are 'locked' when they are installed by applications.
I don't really want to hard reset and re-install to clean up the rgy.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Could you be a little more specific about the registry key you are trying to delete? Where is it and what it is called and what software installed it?

Never fails - I think about something I'd like to know about and then I can't remember where I saw it.
OK, I'm sure that I wasn't trying to remove a system rgy key and it was from an old app. I was going through the rgy, manually deleting references to old stuff I no longer had installed. This was a while back and I just thought of posting a query about it last night.
I've seen this a few times now - a rgy key that can't be deleted.
Essentially, I'd just like to know what the cause is for this (human error or programming issue).
