Secret File Advice
Yesterday I lost my Axim
Just like many of you I have stored sensitive files containing passwords and the like on my ax ...
- which crashed due to a minor traffic accident
So, without my sensitive files I would be lost.
Fortunately I still have access to the information because
I've stored the encrypted files on the SD memory card
I use a crypto program with a PC version available (Tombo )
Accident yes, but still not totally lost -
Are you prepared ?
.

Sorry about your loss. It is a good reminder to back up data because accidents can happen at any time.

My lack of disasters (potential or real) has made me lazy with back-ups, and not just on my axim. Thanks for the reminder that these things can happen at anytime and to anyone. I'm backing up my axim now, and that will be closely followed by important files on my PC

Know that it's a good program - but what will you do if you suddenly loose your axim ?
Think that a regular backup of your ax
and your memory cards is mandatory.
But do you know that the backups only can be restored on the same axim brand - an old x3i in my case ?
In my case this event has been an eyeopener :exc:

In that case you must have a very good, reliable memory ... or no online bank accounts :approve:

It's not a competition, but it is about what works reliably for you. ;) Good for you!

I am trying
TOMBO , but I can't figure out how to sync the desktop and PPC versions. Is that possible?

TOMBO generates files with 'special' filenames located in \Memory Card\My Documents\Tombo root - in my case.
You may sync your dokument files the usual way by AS - this has nothing to do with
Tombo .
Then you may then gain access to the files by the PC
Tombo using the password, which may be a different one for each folder or file, if you prefer.
BTW: A new version 2.0 beta 3 has just been released this week:
http://tombo.sourceforge.jp/En/
An older proven version 1.17 may be found here:
