Hi All,
Mortplayer - is so so cool... NOW WORKS FOR WM5 (Windows Mobile 5) WINDOWS BT-STACK... (think this change is, as I tried using the latest beta version - file which is dated Jan-11-2007)
Firstly before I start... - thank you so much for your post on this forum advising BT options... it is the only place on the net I could get an answer to AVRCP & A2DP player for WM5 (except for I-play which is not downloadable by half the world at
www.40th.com blocks non-USA IP addresses - and also Mortplayer is free or donation software).
What I did to get Mortplayer working with Windows BT stack, incase anyone wants to try is on there WM5 BT Stack Pda is...:-
a) Downloaded and installed the following Cab file
http://www.sto-helit.de/downloads/po...er-3.31b48.cab
b) Downloaded the update execute file - copied this file to the /program_files/mortplayer directory
http://www.sto-helit.de/downloads/po...Player-b54.zip
c) Installed one of the skins for mortplayer - personally like the MyPod one - see
http://www.sto-helit.de/downloads/pocketpc/mp-skins/
Please note that for my Dopod D810 I used the QVGA version - also copy the folder with images as well as the MyPod.mps file - all files into the Mortplayer directory.
Eureka - I am so happy and now have a WM5 fully working AVRCP & A2DP media player!!!
For info.... I am using the Plantronics Pulsar 260 earplug headset with this - excellant sound for bluetooth (product released in Hong Kong mid Jan 2007 - info on these headphones is presently only available on Plantronics UK site... as seems they have only launched them there and in Hong Kong at present - see
http://www.plantronics.com/europe_un...53/prod5610022)
For Dopod D810 owners (the Asia version of the HTC 3600) wanting to get this to work... one registry modification to Bluetooth settings is needed, as follows:-
a) Downloaded a free version of the Mobile Registry Editor software from the net (or use any registry editor software for your mobile)
b) Change the settings for Bluetooth so that "stereo" for the headset is turned on (default is mono)... namely change the settings for one registry key:-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> Software -> Microsoft -> Bluetooth -> Settings to the following...
Bitpool D-Word 58
MaxSupportedBitpool D-Word 80
UseJointStero D-word 2
Basically this results in changing of the "Stereo" setting in the bluetooth to "2" rather than leaving it set as the default "1", changes the headset from "mono" to "stereo" and as I understand at the same time allows for the Headset, Wireless Stereo and Handsfree to all be used together (could be wrong on last point) - but is needed if you use a "stereo" headset such as the Plantronics Pulsar 260 etc..
Please note that the first two D-word settings are optional to change - and it will run fine if you do not change these (changing those allows for higher speed / bitrate streaming of music)
Ok - lastly... comments on usage after installantion...
While listening to music on Mortplayer - Mortplayer stops and the phone ring tone sounds for phone calls (and they can be answered using headet pick up call button)
For Skype calls... Mortplayer stops for skype calls and a different ring tone sounds (however headset can not pick up skype call - need to answer manually).
After finishing either of these calls then Mortplayer starts playing music again.
All buttons - previous, next, pause, play, stop and sound up & down all work.
Once again thank you to "Menneisyys" for your post here and "sto-helit.de" for an outstanding media player product Mortplayer!!!
You are both great and hope you have an outstanding weekend!!!
Cheers - Andrew
PS: I am using "ogg" files with Mortplayer - converted using Mindawn Audio Ripping Software... see [URL="http://www.mindawn.com/download.php"]
Sorry to be so long winded here - just hope that giving full explanation of what did might be helpful to others... enjoy all and thanks again!
