Ok recently i heard about Softstick software which helps make it into a "hard drive". Recently ive been looking through the registry of 2003se and a few things struck me. Theres a folder inthe registry that says USBHDProfile wat does that mean? Is it that microsoft didnt want to make 2003SE into a MAss storage deivce? Dont you think that theres is someway in the registry to make 2003se into a USB Mass Storage Device?
I don't think it's that easy. The author of a free USB Mass Storage Device utility for wm5 (WM5torage) wrote that WM2003 needs some sort of extra drivers for the USB chip or something (read the thread for more info), and that's why he isn't developing a WM2003 version.
but like i said theres these values in the registry that i noticed that might have some relation to the USB Mass Storage just like WM5. Do you guys think that there is someway of tweaking activesync or any other way without having to upgrade to WM5 or purchasing software?

yea but ppl havent really like got to experiment wit the registry besides the performace aspect like tweaking . like how much is WM5 and 2003se differnt from each other beisdes UI and a few other extras?
Well they are quite a bit, because wm5 is the first os that ms switched so that data is stored on rom, and not ram.
The setup is more like a desktop pc. It would be a lot easier to make rom a usb device, vs ram.

bummer :( i just love the USB Mass Storage feature. i dont wanna buy additional software to get that feature and upgrading to WM5 would cause problems and take up more memory :(. Does anybody know a software that can do the Mass Storage thing pleaseeee let me kno =)
I suspect those USB Mass Storage bits in the registry are to support USB storage devices within windows mobile, so if the Axim had the ability to support external USB devices it could natively support memory sticks and hard drives. This doesn't translate back to being able to act as a USB HD.
For WM2003 I'd agree with everyone that Softick Card Export is your best bet.
