I have the cradle at work and only a card reader at home. Is there any way I can install programs to the CF card? I know that if I have access to the cab file I can copy it across and run it from the card.

or is there any way of extracting the cab file from a program that installs through active sync?

The only other alternativce is to install activesync on my wife's laptop and install via infrared but this is last resort 'casue it's a pain!

some programs that are installed with an .exe file actually store the cab files onto your computer somewhere. These files are stored for loading software at a later time. For instance if you try to install a program without the axim connected to the cradle it will give you a message saying it will install the program on the next sync connection. I have found that the .cab file is usually on the pc somewhere and can be save to another directory or disk. With the cab files you should be able to copy them to the CF card like you already stated and load them that way.

Had a go and it works like a charm.

One question though - can I just delete all the files from the activesyc folder to stop it waiting for installation - I can see that these files will build up over time?
