By far this is one of the best functions that I have available while here at work. When things are slow I whip out my 2215 and begin watching TV through my corporate proxy. Plus I use VNC to access my home computer to change channels if I want to. With March on the way (March Madness) I don't have to worry about missing any College hoops games!

Havin little prob with this setup.

When I set up WME, I can choose TV tuner card and channel, but the input display remains blank.

If I turn on the TV app it works fine.

If i have the TV app on and try to set up WME it cant access the card.

Running on win2k.

Any ideas?

Finally figured out why I wasn't getting video after fiddling around for a couple of hours. I edited the output to Video Encoder w/Windows Media 8 as the default output, and now everything works

There is no option to adjust the audio, however, Windows Media 9 codex work on my PPC2002.

Now there's just 1 last thing left to do... how do I stream the TV from home so I can watch it at work? How do I configure the router?

Determine what broadcast port you are using (e.g. 8080 or 8880). Then configure your firewall to allow port forwarding to your internal desktop IP at the designated port.

Example: Your external IP is 68.22.22.22. Your internal desktop IP is 192.168.1.5. Your broadcast port is 8080. Set up your firewall to forward port 8080 to 192.168.1.5. Then while you are at work, open WMP and choose open URL. Use http://68.22.22.22:8080. This should connect you to your video stream at home.

i am having the same problem with the inverted color image when i use WME. my problem may be that i'm using an old AIW 128 rage pro card but i'm not sure. i've updated all the drivers that i could but i'm still getting that reverse image.

Hmmm, It could very well be the card. I am using a Hauppauge WinTV card which is pretty popular.

okay... I finally find some time to try this and pretty excited too but unsuccessful. Guys I need help... can you tell me what I am doing wrong. I did exactly what is written on the instructions. I am using a Hauppage TV Card and had a Linksys BEFW11 access point. I can connect to the Internet with no problem and I could see the TV show on the Encoder after clicking finish, but when I enter the URL (i tried both computer name and ip address) on my ipaq's media player and hit Enter - I kept on getting this error: "Windows Media Player cannot find the file. Verify that your network proxy settings are correct, and then try again." I have a Zone Alarm Pro Firewall installed on my pc... will that cause the error?

Let me know... thanks much!

CaTaClyZm, your answer could well be in your post! Zone Alarm (even Pro) has a reputation of screwing things up! The first thing I would do is turn it off and try connecting. If you connect ok, then it should just be a matter of configuring ZA to allow you through.

I would definately say that could be your problem. ZoneAlarmPro might be blocking your broadcast port. Either enable your broadcast port in your firewall or disable it to see if it works as mentioned above.
