Lost My TASKS on Today Screen
It's funny (but I'm not laughing), I turned on my Axim this morning and noticed that my "Tasks" are not on my Today screen. I went in to Start--->Settings---> Today and when I looked, there is no Tasks box to check. I can go to Start--->Tasks and they are all still there.... I wonder what the heck is going on? Any ideas?
Thanks,

WOW, I have no clue. Have you tried a soft reset? If it comes to it, you might have to back up all your stuff and do a hard reset. I noticed you are new here though, and so welcome! And have a good time!

The exact same thing happened to me several months ago and I've never gotten Tasks back (soft resets no help).
I didn't like the way Tasks displayed anyway, so I tried an app called TaskPlus (should be a link available in the Downloads section). Much better task viewer, IMO, plus much more configurable. It is a Today Screen Plug-in. It does seem to have a bit of a memory leak so you'll need to soft-reset every few days to reclaim non-released RAM (no big deal).
I stopped using it when I switched to AgendaFusion.

Is your ax still under warranty? If mine was and a soft reset didnt work then I would ship it off to dell. I wouldnt want to have to soft reset my ax every couple of days for no reason!!

I'm sure a hard-reset would bring it back, but I hate restoring/reloading.
And since I didn't like the way Tasks displayed I don't care if it's gone.
I still do soft-resets every 2-3 days anyway. PPC/Windoze doesn't do a very good job of completely recovering used RAM from running apps. You can check your RAM usage and see it slowly increase everyday. A soft-reset clears/recovers that RAM and causes no harm to your system.

This might be a little adavanced for you
but if you can use a registery editor go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Today\Items
and let see what do you have in there
Do you see a "Task" entry ?
if yes go inside it and post all the keys/values you see in there

Although I haven't posted many threads or replies to threads, I would consider myself quite advanced in the usage of my AXIM as I have had it since Jan. 2003 and use it every day. I only post something if I have something intelligent to say and lately I don't feel too intelligent...lol
I had to do a HARD reset to get my TASKS back on the Today screen and I restored from a previous backup (of which I have many files because I have been in the Disaster Recovery field for many years and learned 3 key words early in my career.... BACKUP, BACKUP and BACKUP) :D One thig though, my system seems to be running slower since the restore (I am still at A03 because I didn't have the guts to try WM2003)... I think I might just HARD Reset again and reload just the apps I use frequently (that should clean up all the junk in the registry).
Thanks for all the replies and I am waiting patiently for DELL to get their act together so I can upgrade to WM2003

ymawad, thanks for your insight on the reg edit process...I had a program I had deleted but couldn't get it out of the Today Plugins box...even after deleting ALL the other reg keys...I must have overlooked that one somehow. Thanks for your help! Saved me lots of time!
