- Log in to your Gmail account from your PC.
- Select Settings at the top of any Gmail page.
- Select the Forwarding and POP tab in the orange Mail Settings box.
- Under POP Download, choose to Enable POP for all mail or Enable POP only for mail that arrives from now on.
- Specify whether you want Gmail to keep a copy of messages in the Inbox when you access messages through POP.
- Select Save Changes.
Now you can auto-configure Gmail from your Pocket PC phone:
- Press Start and scroll to Messaging.
- Select Menu > Tools > New Account.
- Enter your e-mail address
- In the Auto configuration screen, wait until the Status changes from Connecting to Completed.
- Select Next.
- Enter your name, user name, and password. If you want your PDA/smartphone to save your password, so you won’t have to enter it every time you want to check your mail, check the box next to Save password.
- Select Next.
- Ensure Account type is set to POP3.
- Select Next.
- Make sure that Incoming Mail is set to pop.gmail.com:995
- Make sure that Outgoing Mail is set to smtp.gmail.com:465
- Select Finish.
- Select Yes to confirm that you would like to download mail for this new account now.
To view your latest messages on your Pocket PC phone, select Menu > Send/Receive.
DONE!
Hope this helps
