Solution for ActiveSync Installing Problem
Moderators... admins... Maybe you could make an entry in the faq? There are a lot of people with this problem, and this should solve there problems!
Some people complain they can't install ActiveSync properly on Windows XP...
Well, here's my little guide to install ActiveSync 3.7 MANUALLY
Download the 3.7 Msasync.exe
If the box disappears and you are getting your desktop back, ActiveSync won't install automatically... Reason? I don't
know but I have a solution:
1st step
Delete Documents And Settings\Username\Local Settings\temp\ where Username is your username
2nd step
Run the Msasync.exe
3nd step
Delete Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync
4th step
Copy the contents of the created Map in Documents And Settings\Username\Local Settings\temp\ to Program Files\Microsoft
ActiveSync
5th step
Copy rapi.dll and ceutil.dll from Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync to Windows\System32
6th step
Now Activesync will work!

//edit: Activesync will work this way, but the Manager to upload programs won't!!! The fix for this (you don't have to use the method above then):
Start your computer in safe mode with network connections
Install msasync.exe
when there seems to be nothing going on:
- task manager: kill explorer.exe
- task manager: kill msasync.exe
- task manager: kill setup.exe
now setup will continue...
Reboot your PC, start normally: ActiveSync Works Fine!
