I was reading the thread about getting your gmail and one two folk seemed to have problems with setting up yahoo mail.

I just messed around with it and got it working. I'm not sure how general it is because I'm UK based and my email has the form @yahoo.co.uk.

Anyway after trying and failing I gave up and read the yahoo instructions.
Where I was going wrong was that I was setting my User Name as just the prefix without the @yahoo.co.uk. Having changed my User Name to the full email address all works fine.

I discovered this by selecting "Options" from the top right of my normal pc yahoo mail screen then select "POP access and Forwarding". Just tick the bullet for "Web & POP Access". At the bottom of that section there is a link "View POP Settings" and that's where I discovered my error.

Otherwise it's just like for gmail, i.e. tick for SSL and Authenticate.

You have the version of yahoo mail that you have to pay for, correct? Because the last i checked pop3 doesnt come with free yahoo mail.

O wait, i guess they make pop3 free for UK, India, Hong Kong, etc.

Hi folks. I'm U.S. based and also had to setup a UK yahoo account so I could download my email. Seems everyone else wants you to pay for this little privilege. UK yahoo works the same as their other email.
