WM2003 requires soft reset to turn on

My upgrade to 2003 went well yesterday and everything is up and running. Except that today I discovered that I have to soft reset to turn it on. The button doesn't work. Any ideas or suggestions?

Thanks for your input.

I'm not sure I understand your problem. Do you mean that instead of being able to turn the Axim on with the power button you have to turn it on with the Reset button?

If that is the case, then you've really got a weird problem. I upgraded yesterday also and have been doing exceptionally well. I've noticed that things seem to go faster than I remember and the problem of the Axim coming on by itself after removing it from the cradle has gone bye bye. Hasnt' come on by itself once since the upgrade. So far, I'm well pleased with the upgrade.

One thing I did do is set the speed to a steady 400mhz. Seemed to make it faster still. One day into the upgrade and I'm loving life with WM2003. :-)

hrm, did you try a hard reset, that may fix it....

Theres someone else who had this problem, I'd search the forums if I were you and try to find it.

I had this problem after upgrading to WM2003. I found something on the forum that suggested it might be the driver for the Dell thumb keyboard. Have you got one? I suggest removing the the driver and see what happens. Hope it works

Thanks a Million

Thanks to both of you. I've tried a hard reset and so good so far. After reading the second help, YES I do have a Dell external keyboard and the problem began yesterday after I installed the former driver for it. I hope this fixes it.

I hope I can find a new WM 2003 driver for the keyboard.

Thanks for your help.

ahhh, yeah, i had the same problem, and the drivers were posted in a thread somewhere on this site, but speaking of the drivers, where did they originally come from anyway, u would think dell would ship them with those who asked for the upgrade and ordered a keyboard, but then again, it is a big company...
