i'm not using anthing except hp's software and i can print any file i choose. you're clicking on the icon next to the envelope right? then just navigate your way to the file and select print now. i'm assuming you've installed your printer on the axim and have the correct path to it.

chrisdiaz,
I have my printer/ ax set up correctly. Again, I can print any file as long as I have the westtek viewers installed. If I remove the viewers I can only print emails.

Question!
Can you print a PDF file from your AX?

I think I figured it out.
Check the file extensions on the files you can print. If you try and print a pocket word file (.psw) it prints. But if you drag a word file (.doc) from your PC to your handheld it wont print.
I would bet that the files you have been printing are files that have been generated on your PPC and not files that have been moved from a PC to the AX.
Try a PDF file, this will put the proof in the pudding.

Sounds great. I tried the HP Mobile Printing software when it first came out I couldn't get it to work. I'm going to try it again now.

I couldn't print a PDF, but I did drag an Excel file from my desktop to my Ax and it printed without Westtek Clearvue. The file extension is .pxl (the extension changes from .xls to .pxl as part of the conversion when the file gets copied from desktop to ppc). I'm assuming the same thing happens with Word files.

Maybe you need Westtek to print Word or Excel files that are created in PocketPC?

Ron

If the .xls file is converted to .pxl when copied to your ax, what is the file extension when you create an excel file in pocket pc?
