Just wondering if there is some way of keeping switcherbar loaded after a soft reset?

1) Open up File Explorer on your Axim.
2) At the top-left, click on the drop-down list and select "My Device"
3) Click on the "Windows" folder
4) Click on the "Shortcut" folder
5) Click on the "System" folder
6) Click&Hold on "Switcher Bar", and select "Copy"
7) At the top-left, click on the drop-down list and select "Windows"
8) Click on the "Startup" folder
9) Click&Hold anywhere on the blank background and select "Paste Shortcut"

That's it....it will now start everytime your Axim is restarted.

I'm a newbie, not just to the group, but to PDA's in general. This was something I was looking for an answer to.

PMFJI, but I am curious why anyone would want to use Switcher Bar in the first place. It has known issues, some of which are not real nice. There are several free applications available (Icbar being one amd I believe Wisebar is also free) that will perform the same function and more, and don't have the problems. Do your selves a favor. Check out some of the other applications. Switcher Bar is not a great application.

I love Icbar :D. I am pretty sure there is a link in the download section of Aximsite. It is free, too, which is always nice ;)

What are some of the issues with the dell one? Although i'm currently using Spb Pocket Plus, i was just curious.

My complaint about the switcher bar is that you can't readily see what is open and that when you exit a program you cannot close it without going into the switcher bar. Then, the choices on the switcher bar menu aren't always what I want at the moment. I just downloaded Icbar and I really like it a lot! It has a lot more options.

There were some reports a couple months back that running Switcher Bar simultaneously with some third part aps causes the Axim to lock up. Pocket Informant comes to mind but that could be wrong. Also, if you close contacts with the switcher bar, you cannot get back into it until you soft reset.

OMG. I did just that a few weeks ago(closed contacts with the switcher bar menu)and my axim froze up and I previously never new what set it off. It was such a devistating freeze too - that I even created a new thread over it. My buttons froze, etc. Now I know the reason behind it.
