Very nice, works great! I can't believe the only program I couldn't get to work with PC2003 was a Microsoft program. All my others worked great, even the ones that weren't supposed to.

It is noted at the bottom of the post on the PPcZone, that

"Money shows up in the uninstall listing on the PPC, but I actually don't know if it will work or not. Good luck!"

I hate installing programs that I can't unistall later. Has anyone used this fix and unistalled PPC Money successfully?

I'm coping the steps over to this thread in case that website I linked to ever goes away:


Follow these instructions and you should be able to
install Money for the
PPC (2003 version):

1. With the PPC in the cradle and ActiveSync running,
start the installation
of Pocket Money for Money 2003 on the desktop.

2. Go through the normal install routine, following the
prompts on the
desktop machine.

3. When the PPC pops up an error message, don't clear it.
Instead, open File
Explorer on the PPC. (I don't know if the error message
needs to remain
open,

but without having experimented, I suggest leaving it on
screen for now.)

4. Browse to "My Device /Windows /AppMgr /Install" and
tap-and-hold on the
file that is in that folder. (This is the one caveat...
your folder may end
up

being different, but something tells me that this is the
folder you should
look in). The file should be obviously related to Pocket
Money.

5. When the menu appears, choose copy.

6. Still using File Explorer on the PPC, browse to "My
Device /Temp" and
paste the file in this new folder.

7. Once the file appears in this new folder, single tap
the file. The
installation will begin on its own.

8. Close the error message from the original installation.

9. After you have successfully installed Money, with the
PPC in the cradle,
explore the PPC (use Explore from within ActiveSync).

10. Browse to "My Device /Windows" and look for "MoneyCE".

11. Right click on this file and choose "Create a
shortcut".

12. Move this shortcut to "My Device /Windows /Start
Menu /Programs" to
finish the install.

13. Rename this new shortcut as "Microsoft Money".

14. Remove the PPC from the cradle. Check the settings
for the Money Conduit
in ActiveSync, place the PPC back into the cradle, and
away you go.

Dumb question, I was able to install Pockey Money fine, but there is an option when creating a new account for it to display on the Today screen, however mine does not seem to want to do that. Any ideas why it's not showing up properly?

For some reason i cannot get mine to sync up with my desktop version. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have tried several times to install to a memory card or even the built-in memory and Money just won't work there. (At least I have not been able to get it to). It will open, but won't display on the today screen and won't sync. M$ sux!!! Bill Gates owes me millions for my bad carpal tunnel syndrome!

Pocket Money 2004 is available as a free download from http://www.microsoft.com/money/suppo.../downloads.asp . Why use the old version when you can just use the new one that's natively compatible with Windows Mobile 2003?

Because Pocket Money 2004 will not work with Desktop Money 2003. (At least that's my reasoning.) I hate buying Money or Quicken more than once every two or three years, since most of the updates aren't worth the money/bother IMO.

A quick question about this: After installing Money 2003 as outlined above, I put some of my accounts on the Today screen. When I click on the Money icon or the account names on the Today screen, I get a 'Shortcut Target' error box- 'Error opening the shortcut or locating the target filename'. Anyone know a fix so that Money will open from the Today screen?
