Thanks. I'm going to give this a try, converting to WMV and DIVX to compare quality.

I did this a few days ago... I converted a musicvideo into both divx and WMV 320x240 formats and the WMV (v9 btw) is noticeably smoother and better on my X3 400mhz. It also handled the fast-paced scenes with alot less blocks which the divx seemed to amplify the bad effect.

Thanks, Hover. You saved me some time.

In my test, I found that the audio had short breaks every 2-3 seconds, so I must have done something wrong. Need to go back and try this again

Video Conversion

two things on this subject folks

first for everything you could ever want on video conversion ripping etc etc etc http://www.dvdrhelp.com is the best site you will ever find.

Second tmpgenc a versitile conversion program that converts to all kinds of vcd and dvd mpg formats, I even have some templates for it for PPC sized formats and conversions. I have found it to be excellent for this and have already converted full length films for use on my X5 and I only had it a fortnight.

If you cant find the template drop me a note here and i'll upload them using these and pocket music and video player works a treat.

Now if only the speaker on the x5 wasnt so poor. (the only gripe I have with it so far)

Question

I was just wondering on how you get your video to stream to the x3i. I have an x3i and a wireless router, but I can't figure out how to stream the audio or video. I'm still just kind of learning my axim.

after looking at various guides on how 2 watch dvds on my x3i i decided that i needed something

1. user friendly
2. would work, especially after running programs for a few hrs.

i went for dvd to pocket pc, cost 25 bucks from handango and it was worth not having 2 waste time working out the other programs
