I found myself with a hosed SD card and I don't know how. The Memory icon reports that 200MB is being used (out of 256) but I don't see any files.

I didn't find any tools out of the box that can help with this - format, etc.

Luckily I did a quick search on google and found a program called storage tools which let me format my SD Card. I lost all my files though.

Anyone know any tricks to deal with SD card problems? Or recommend other utils/apps?

Which brand of card was SanDisk?

It's not a SanDisk. It's a Lexar 256MB SD Card. I see that you've got one yourself.
Have you had any issues with it at all?

Not a one, it has a lot of applications a files. Plus I keep my backup on it. Do you have an X3 Or X5?

check out a program named "storage tools" you can find it at handango.com and maybe freewareppc.com. It's a trial version, I haven't bought it yet but certainly plan to. It will help you figure out what is going on with the card.
