Battery icon in menu bar?

Hey all, I've seen several screen grabs from people's PPCs with the "system" battery icon in the menu bar. I seem to be a total wing nut b/c I can't figure out how to get it there. Is there a hack or a check box I missed?

Thanks,

Josh

You need to download a screen plug in program which will do this for you. Try Icbar or Wisbar Advanced, both available free from Aximsite>Other Resources>Downloads>Desktop & Shell. Another freeware program is Gigabar from www.gigabar.com/downloads, but this is a more powerful, and hence more complex program than the other two. Personally I use Icbar, which can be configured to put plenty of Icons on your menu bar and can also be skinned to your personal taste.

Does anyone know where to get a icons that will work with icbar other than what comes with it?

I have been told that Icbar and Wisbar Advanced do not work with 2003 SE, in case you are new here using Axim X30. Check the 2003SE forum for compatible programs.

Also if you find that one does work update the list please so people know.

Personally I am still waiting for word from Omega One about Battery Pack Pro, cause I am really missing it.

Actually, wisbar does work, it just doesnt skin the whole start bar when you are in landscape mode, and its a little buggy to change the settings, but not really.

Okay, I may move it to the limited success section and list the issue then. Some may find it worth using then. Personally I don't use landscape.

The lastest version of wisbar works. It works in landscape mode but if you want it to cover the whole taskbar you have to softstart after in landscape mode and then softstart again when you get out of landscape mode.

Personally, I use the Battery Bar plugin that comes with Battery Pack/Battery Pack Pro. This util is one of my top recommended utilities for the Pocket PC! Aside from showing the battery status, this util offers a slew of other great features. It's the kind of am, IMHO, that once you get used to it, you can't have an Axim without it! It is not freeware, but very worth the asking price IMO.

OK where did the downloads section of this site disappear to? Someone in this thread mention "Other Resources" but I didn't see it under the Resources tab up top.

It will return eventually. The upgrade killed many of the resources.

If you are interested in it returning, then please request it in this thread.
