I installed three utilities on my SD card, since I don't use them much. After the install there were three icons in the programs folder, and I could access them. Now I see three icons which are just plain windows icons, which don't run the programs. I can still run the programs from the exe in the folder on the exe card. I can also run them from my launcher program. Does anyone know how to restore the link to the folders and be able to run from programs folder? Thanks.

I know if I remove them and then reinstall, but I would hate to do that.

Use File Explorer to go to the .exe file on your CF card. Tap and hold, then choose copy from the menu. Browse to where you want the shortcut. Choose edit (bottom left) and then paste shortcut. That should do it.

I tried that it shows up in file explorer in the correct place, but it doesn't show in the program folder icon view. The non usable icons are there, and they don't show in file explorer as being in the programs folder.

Have you tried deleting the old, non-working icons, and creating new shortcuts?

Look in /Windows/Start Menu/Programs or /Windows/StartUp (not /Windows/Programs)

I had a similar problem after doing a hard reset and re-installing applications. The applications on my SD card no longer appeared in the Windows program lists.

Did you recently have any reset issues or play with your registry at all?

I solved my issue by backing up the pertinet data from the programs and re-installing them. Then I just restored the data with my backups. This put the icons back in place.

I had a similar problem, I downloaded a file from the office and the file just ate all the data. I had to hard reset and reinstall from backup. I just ended up removing the programs and reinstalling again. Everything OK now.

The problem was my fault, because I took Norton Anti-Virus off the Axim. Once I hard reset the Axim, I reinstalled Norton and put the file that did me in back on and Norton caught it. I beleive it was called cruncher or something like that.

Wow... they actually have a virus for PPC?

I wouldn't call it a virus, it was some malious code that when loaded deleted files. It couldn't damage the operating system since that was in ROM. Not saying that someone couldn't write a code to flash the ROM.
