cleaning

Help my husband was being real nice and put a screen protector on my axim 3 and it had bubbles under it. When I peeled it off there was a horrible film and I don't know what to use to clean it with. I don't want to mess it up since he bought this for me for Christmas and not to mention I love it. Can I use rubbing alcohol? Thanks in advance Rhonda

I don't have any recommendations on what to try, but I would not try rubbing alcohol because it may be too strong and leave a haze on your screen. Whatever you try, spray it or apply it on the cloth you are using and not the screen itself. If any liquid gets past the edges of the screen, that would not be good.

Sit tight, and I'm sure someone else will post with recommendations on a cleaning agent.

No, don't use rubbing alcohol. I usually just use a microfiber glasses cleaning cloth to clean my screen, but it sounds like you need something more heavy duty than that. There are some ammonia free, alcohol free LCD cleaners that you can use, and they also make specific PDA screen cleaning kits.

Sorry to hear about this. I'm curious to know what brand the screen protector was? I've never heard of this happening before, and want to know what brands to avoid.

I think I had the same problem once with WriteRights on a previous PDA. That is why many people don't want the sticky, adhesive kind of Screen Protectors.

The pda screen cleaner would be a good choice. I also use a small amount of glasses cleaner on a microfiber cloth.

Thanks everyone! The brand I used is called CoolWRITE. Don't ever use it.
