Help! Can't install ActiveSync

Installed Active Sync an the laptop with no problem but it won't install on the desktop.
The installation gets to about 90% and freezes.
Tried downloading a newer version but the same thing happens.
There must be a conflict somewhere but I can't find it.
Thoughts?
thanks!

Hapened for me too once, just stick it out. It too like 20 minutes for mine to unfreeze. It might say someething about the registry etries ot getting put in, just ignore it.

Thanks!
I'll give it another try.

No go!
disabled AVG antivirus and Second Copy.
Still gets to "copying files" 91% and stalls.
No hard drive activity and get the "program not responding...end now" when I close it.

I just had this problem the other day. I was in a real big mess because I had to do a hard reset on my device and I also had no activesync on my dell laptop. My installation would freeze up at exactly 91%. After extensive research on the microsoft website, I decided that my last option was to try the system restore function within Windows XP. I found the last restore checkpoint (not even a week old). After doing that, it's like I had never uninstalled activesync. Worked like a charm. Also, I don't believe you will loose any files by doing a system restore. Hope this helps you out

This is a known issue and I have heard of users waiting up to 30 minutes for the install to finish. I also had that problem where my install stopped at 91%. Didn't take 30 minutes but I did have to wait for it to finish. I would suggest being patient. Try to install before you go to bed. When you wake up it should have installed. I really never seen an issue reported where activesync would not install at all.

Has activesync ever been installed on your desktop?

It worked!
I let it install while I went and worked on my car for a couple of hours.
When I came back...presto!
Thanks for your help...:)
