Store SD cards in the CF Dummy Card

This LINK shows how this person modified their IPAQ 2200 CF Dummy Card to hold an extra SD/MMC card when not using the CF slot. Note this mod also works for the X5....you just have to trim a little more plastic bracing.

Do this at your own risk ;)

It looks like a neat idea!

I wonder how long it will be until someone posts a request for ideas about how to shake their dummy cf card out of the slot following a sd card getting jammed! ;) - Could turn into a tutorial on how to turn an x5 into a x3 (i.e no cf!)

Hey I never really thought about modifying the dummy card. One way I did to keep an extra SD card with my Axim was. I have a 512 CF card, not the think one, the thin one. I forget which way the CF1 or CF2 works. Anyway there is a little space left, so I took a piece of cardboard the size of the CF and the thickness of the space left. Then I cut a notch in it the size of the SD card. I put in my CF card and slide the cardboard with the SD in it and there I go. I took ablack marker and covered the top edge of it so it didnt show up so bad. I have been using this for over 5 months, with no ill effect to the SD, CF, memory on them , or the Axim. Not to say it wouldn't, but I don't see how. Hey it works for me anyway.
