IE doesn't work well

well, as I have posted other where, my IE just can connect to my school homepage, but can't get to others like Yahoo, Google something. I am doing this at school, plugging in my wireless router to the school network, and wireless communicating my X3i to that router. That's it. Could anyone help me figure why?

I just had this the other day. ^:^ Many thanks

I am afraid my case is even worse

You see, even I do type in the URL, I can't open anything through IE. The only website I can view is my university's homepage. BTW: I do this in my school. The flow is like:

Xi3 <---> My wireless router <---> School network

Somebody posted that it may be an IP conflict between my Xi3 and my desktop which is also connected to the wireless Router.

My xi3 still not working now. That's my 2nd one. The 1st one was broken after arriving at me several days and was returned...

Yeah it's not IE, the problem runs like this : Your school has restricted the access of the wireless network to *internal* servers only.

This is extremely common, and to get over it you need to ask your sysadmins at school to tell you the address of the proxy server.

Stick the proxy server address into your Connection settings- Advanced, make sure 'This network connects to the internet' and 'This network uses a proxy server to connect' are checked, then fill in the IP or machine name of the proxy server in the box.

With a proxy server then, your connection would run like this :

Xi3 <------> My wireless router <-----> School network
\-----> Proxy Server <---> Internet

And you should be able to see both the School network and the external internet, however they will be on different networks - school will be local and the internet comes to you via the proxy server.

Cheers - Neil.
