More backup problems

I am trying to restore my Axim X5 from a CF card, which I've entitled 3.19.04, I noticed it's a ".dbk" but it gets to 97% and stops, nothing happens, what can I do?

Me too

Basically the same problem I had. I can only guess that the backup is somhow corrupted. I don't use the Axim internal backup program any more to back up my data to the SD/CF card. Too unreliable. Whether it's a card problem, who knows. The card I had a problem with seems to work just fine otherwise...

I tried this yesterday, I've always relied on my Activsync backup until recently, but I'm due to spend a lot of time away from home so want a backup to my SD card.
I got several warnings whilst performing the backup.
1. All running programmes should be shut down (this includes AS when cradled and any utilities that run at startup).
2. The Axim likes to be fully powered when it's running an 'internal' backup (so I cradled the device and disconnected AS).
3. You must have sufficient storage before beginging the backup.
Whilst performing the backup I noticed that it slowed to a crawl at around 95% but I left it running and it completed properly. It took around fifteen minutes.
The backup file now appears on my crd as (filename) "default" and is 10.8m.
It may be worth noting that I keep very little on my Ax3. Most of my files are on my SD card because I don't have the luxury of a lot of storage space (how I wish I'd gone for the X5!). If you're backing up a lot of files (data) from the internal memory I'd hazzard a guess that the process will take longer.
I'd try again following the three points above and stick with it, it might be worth considering moving files to a SD card to reduce the size of the backup.

Thanks-
I tried this already, and I've fully powered it, disconnected Activesync and did not have any programs running and had nothing else on the axim, i have full memory. Still nothing. I copied the file from the CF to the SD and got the same. Hmmmm... any other ideas? Thanks again!

Not really, do you have a back up on the pc? If so, does this one restore ok?
If it does, copy the file to another destination on you pc to keep it safe and replace the one in the AC directory with the one on the card. Try restoring from there.
If it doesn't work you can always delete the 'new' file and put the old one back where it should be.
