Tip when deleting e-mails

If you're a Newbie (like wot I am) it may not seem obvious so here's a tip.

I use my Axim to get e-mails from my ISP by dialling up direct using my CF card modem. I set the POP account to view last 10 days mail only but got frustrated at the time waiting while the Axim was receiving mail. It kept loading up old mail again that I had previously deleted using the Axim.

Just found out today that to actually delete your e-mails from your ISP server you have to use Outlook Express (in my case) on the desktop/laptop PC otherwise they keep getting thrown back at your Axim (and get stored on your Axims memory even if not displayed).

Note: I use my laptop for Work e-mail on another programme and not Outlook Express and try to keep Axim for home and leisure use.

Thanks for a great site....

I found the same thing - when I active sync my e-mails are downloaded automatically but when I check from my desktop they are still there even though I deleted them from my AX - stupid way of doing things in my opinion but perhaps someone here has a reasonable explanation for this.

when i'm coming from pop3 perspective, wireless, if i do the initial send/receive... delete 1 or 2 emails, then do the send/receive again, i find they actually stay deleted....i'll have to check from the sync perspective, but you'd think if u deleted it on the ax, the sync would catch the delete...
