Question Sound trouble with my Axim!

Hi Axim Users

I got a problem with my X5. I got into listening sound on my device cause I just bought a 512mb Compact Flash card. Now I figured that the quality of the sound is very poor and I don't know what the reason could be. No matter if I play it through Windows Media Player or another downloaded Music player, I always get the same problem.....

.... some mp3 files give out a strange voice, they kinda crackle! It sounds like the speaker is broken, but the strange thing is that some mp3 files do play normally. I have all my files on at least 128kps so that's not the reason for the bad quality.

Did somebody have the same problem already or does someone know a way to get rid of this problem?

I hope you guyz can help me.

Best wishes,

Silverstorm

Are you running WM2003? Wasn't there an audio update patch released? Check the Dell website for the lastest patches.

Are you using the speaker to listen to music? Or headphones?

It's hissing on both speaker and earphone, right?
I have the same problem. It goes away after you play for a few minutes and it does come back after a while.

There were ppl sending the unit back to Dell for replacment but too bad mine is out of warranty already.

same thing with me, very irritating. When ever it happens, I stop the song, and then play it again, and it's fine.

Hey ecsw

Do you know if the Dell guys could fix the ppl's devices? I don't wanna miss my Axim for a long time when the guys can't do anything about it! But I can't get what the problem is anyway. Sometimes it works, sometimes not! I mean that can't be a software problem neither looks like a hardwore problem :rolling:

Anyway, let's hope for other tips and tricks.

Best wishes,

Silverstorm
