You mean mine? I said that from memory the article stated that it would heat up the CPU (which you admit it does) and I paraphrased the article said it could cause instability (which you admit).

So if you're trying to swing your handbag my way then I think you need to chill out. There are ways to get your point across and wow us all with your overclocking knowledge without accussing people of making dumb and factless threads.

When I hit 590.20, it just locked up, and a soft reset took care of it

You can't get yours to run at 590 stable? Very wierd, as i am able to fine. What hardware version your got?

590

Hey HT -

I should clarify - During the first phase of the PHM 2004 beta test, we ran a module that tested numerous CPU speeds for stability. We were asked to run the test until it either completed or froze. Each time, my Axim froze @ 597.20. I haven't gone any higher than 530 in PHM 2.45.

hmmm, that sucks. I for the first time just overclocked to 708Mhz with the setting 32-4-1.5 without a lock up. I did this because i was curious to see if i could get pass the 27-4-1.5 setting(597mhz) you seem to get stuff at and that is the next step up. I only kept it at that speed for about a minute to run a benchmark on BetaPlayer and the funny thing is 472Mhz out performed the 708Mhz by 3FPS,lol. I guess when you get to a certain point CPU isn't the thing slowing you down.

I am not sure why i am able to get pass 597Mhz while you can't. Maybe it is the program i am using or something.

I'll give this a shot . . .

Thanks again HT. I am going to try the setting you're posted and I'll let you know if it works. Maybe it was the specific settings for that exact speed that it doesn't like. I'll enter the values in your post and let you know how it goes.
