Is there a way to move my address book from Palm into Axim?

Hmm

Hi, I just moved all my Palm data over this past weekend to my Dell. I think there are about three or more ways it can be accomplished. You can enter everything in again. You can beam some data, apparently.

What I did was export data out of Palm into csv files and then import them into Outlook. The biggest problem I had was with the contacts, the mapping was not the greatest, but it worked well enough not to have to re-enter everything.

I did not try the beaming, but it may be even easier.

Exclamation

Just infra red beam your palm contacts into your Axim.

Voila.

PS you may have to re catagorize them in outlook after you've done a active sync.

:D

On the Palm CDROM is a program called PocketMirror that allows Palm to sync to outlook. Do that, then sync the Ax and it's all copied over.

To expand on the csv file suggestion, I exported to a .csv file from the palm, then did the same thing from Outlook\contacts (If you have a lot of contacts, I would create a sub folder and set up one contact for the initial export). This allows you to copy and paste the data from the columns in the palm csv into the correct contacts csv file, so that when you re-import the file to outlook\contacts, it reads properly. To make sure I didn't screw up a good contacts folder, I made a sub-folder under contacts to import to and then moved this folder to the main contacts folder after any minor revisions were made. :)
