Was ICS enabled when you looked in the registry?
I believe so...but I could be wrong.
I enabled ICS on the PC2 and I can point to the bluetooth.

I will double check again this weekend.

Howard, could you tell me why 108mb/s router not worth waiting for? are you suggesting the current 54mbps is faster or more stable?

Really...hm..

I haven't try yet hehe...but my isp dial up normally limit my connection every 5 hours and then they disconnect me but I can reconnect again after that.

Probably your ISP and my ISP different hehe...In here ADSL still expensive, CABLE even more expensive hehe...

1) The 108Mb/s router uses two channels to transfer the information. So depending on how much "free air" you have around you might have problems. Or cause problems for your neighbours.

2) It's proprietary. The DLink 108Mb/s Wifi devices will only talk at 108Mb/s with other Dlink devices.

3) Chances are that your Internet is WAY slower than 108Mb/s. Since most home users have the vast majority of traffic coming destined to or from the Internet the bottleneck is the actual Internet connection.

It's faster than 54Mb/s in those ideal situations where it's a Vendor devices talking to a Vendor devices with very little noise or interference. But I wouldn't bother holding off for it. If there were two routers, one 108Mb/s and one 54Mb/s the 108Mb/s capability would score beneath stability, vendor support and price in my books.

If speed is a real requirement and it's physically feasible, use a 100Mb/s Ethernet connection or Gig E. :)

ok - you have dialup. so 108Mb/s is ~3,300 times faster than your Internet access :)

I was thinking previously to just wire the connection between rooms (get the expert to do it because I check it out and I am not confident to do it because under ground house difficult to pin point where to drill :rolling: hehe...)
and the price is the same if I buy wifi equipment therefore I choose wifi since it is not fixed.

The only problem, yeah..I need to buy all connection 108mbps to all the pc or laptop.

Quick question:
If PC1 and PC2 connection with 108mbps and my laptop only allow 54mbps. I still can connect between PC1 and PC2 with 108mpbs, am I right? but my connection to my laptop drop to 54mpbs.

I am planning to go to ADSL but I can wait till end of this year because the price war in here just begin. (normally customer need to sign contract at least 6 mths or 12 mths)

I am sure my neighboarhood not using any of this gadget hehe...we are pretty slow in here.

Correct. At least with DLink anyway - you can mix 108Mb/s stuff with non-108Mb/s stuff.

Howard,

OKay...

1. Shared ICS/files on my PC1 to PC2 successfully with PC1 192.168.0.1 and PC2 automatic.
2. Installed bluetooth successfully
3. Enabled ICS on my PC2 LAN but received error conflig IP
4. Change IP on PC2 to 192.168.1.1 & default gateway to 192.168.0.1.
5. Couldn't share files/connect/ping between PC1 and PC2
6. "Hkey_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Servi ces\ICSharing" NOT EXIST.
7. Add DNS server on PC2 to 192.168.0.1 but still couldn't connect.

Did I miss something?

Oh yeah...I turn off my firewall from both PC but still no luck.

I am still not sure by what you mean "assign IP address to the Interface, not the PC"? and how to do that?

So there you go....probably it is not possible to setup this way or maybe I miss something hehe..

FYI, I changed IP on PC2 to 192.168.0.X and it is connecting to the PC1 directly. PC2 LAN Enabled ICS still TICK but "Hkey_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Servi ces\ICSharing" still NOT EXIST.

I can transfer the file to my PPC from PC2.

Tried to use VNC from PPC but it doesn't work.
