did drop mine again...by accident, about 3 feet ( 1 metre). The problem was the alarm kept ringing. I tried a soft reset twice but this failed to do anything. Finally, I did a hard reset. That stopped the ringing, now I have to go home and sync all my contacts and everything back in.

I totally agree!!! I have had a few accidental drops from low heights and the Dell Deluxe Leather Case has successfully protected it so far . . . (knock on wood)

The reason I am asking is because I own a Palm and I have dropped it quite a few times (about 20 times), and thank God nothing has ever happened to it.
Thanks for your input.
IVE DROPPED MINE LIKE 10 TIME ALREADY, AND I DONT EVEN HAVE A SCRATCH ON MINE, LUCKY? I DONT KNOW, GOOD DESIGN, PROBALLY SO. -NATHAN- ;)
I dropeed mine off my desk a few times, had it in the case that it ships with, no damage. I traded up from an old 2MB Palm III with a Concept Kitchen PDA Bumper Case, it was bright yellow and had the two styli slots on the outside. Man I dropped that thing like a thousand times and never had a problem, I remember it took a trip into the sink one time (with the water running) It didn't even get wet! (the lid was shut of course)
I returned my Sena case due to a fit problem and while waiting for the replacement my Axim slipped out of my breast pocket. Luckily it only fell about two feet because I was reaching to retrieve paper from a printer. It hit the hard tile floor and kicked about two feet away.
Works fine and somehow doesn't have a scratch!!!!!
Not me of course...but I'm in this tech program at school so about 60 of us have Axims. My friend dropped his the other day whilst inserting it into the lovely standard Dell case. Screen cracked. With 60 or so in a high school you knew one would get ruined sooner or later.
Funny thing is both of us were waiting for cases to arrive (I ordered an Innopocket and a Casetec [Love both, Casetec just a bit more than Innopocket] and he got a holster case of some sort) case doesn't do him much good now :(
He's getting it replaced under warranty. Yup, he concocted a scheme and it worked. Liar.
I dropped mine just today. I was walking with it with my 1-day old Innopocket case, and the slippery surface caused me to drop it at a height of 4 feet onto thin commercial carpet. The case lid flew open, but the Axim and the case held up perfectly. The case looks great, but it's way too slippery. I'm considering adding the traction tape recommended by a user in another thread.
hehe... I know what you mean...
I dont own a thing without scratches or dents but so far...not even lint on my axe...oh....ok sure theres some lint...but not not a whole lot...:D
20 times??!?!?!? wow, you are a prime candidate for Complete Care. That way you won't have to worry about it (well, you'll have to make sure you backup your files regularly).
Yes I did. It's a long and painful story. So I'll cut to the chase. I put the PDA with it's leather case on top of our minivan roof (I know, I know, I can just hear you all now wondering what on earth would possess me to do this stupid thing?! Like I said, it's painful). I drove off with it still on the roof. I heard it fall off after driving a while. After recovering it, there was a crack in the screen on the lower right corner area. The computer itself works wonderfully. But the touch interface is hopelessly out of alignment. Anyone suppose this would sell for a little on eBay to a technician who could fix it for himself/herself?
