Tip #1 => Use wi-fi instead of the USB cradle to perform a full backup/restore, it's super quick! Steps:

1) First sync Axim while in cradle*
2) Remove Axim from cradle and sync from Axim with your wi-fi card plugged in.
3) Start the backup using the ActiveSync (Tools > Backup/Restore...) from your desktop.

*Note: You may be able to skip step #1. I have intermittent problems with my LAN connection being dropped during step #2 if I skip step #1. It always occurs when trying to Synchronize AvantGo. I can't figure that one out. My other work-around is to temporarily remove AvantGo from my ActiveSync Options.

Tip #2 => Use wi-fi instead of the USB cradle to transfer a large amount of data between your Desktop PC and your Axim. Steps:

1) Follow Steps 1 & 2 from above.
2) Drag and drop file(s) using ActiveSync (File > Explore) from your desktop.

These methods are up to 700% faster than using your USB cradle. I believe the USB cradle operates at the 1.5 Mbps speed mode, whereas you can theoretically get 11 Mbps out of your wi-fi connection. Your mileage may vary ;)
