Make FTXP the default browser
Since I could find no clear way to do this within FTXP Browser, I thought I'd share this method of making it the default browser by editing the registry. It might work for other browsers as well.
I did this because I wanted urls in 3rd party programs and email to open in FTXP and not PIE, especially Google Helper. FTXP's tabbed architecture is the closest thing I could find to Avant Browser (at least for free, since I'm a cheap bastard and browsers are free on PCs), which is what I use on the PC. When you have a search, you open a bunch of tabbed windows and let them open at their own pace, then you can view them one after another.
Using a registry editor (in my case PHM) change "HKey_classes_root\http\shell\open\command\default " from iexplore.exe %1 to the path for ftxpbrowser.exe in quotes. In my case, it appears exactly as follows (with quotes): "\built-in storage\programs\ftxpbrowser.exe" %1
Now Google Helper brings up ftxpbrowser instead of iexplore.
I was originally working on a post asking for help on this, but decided to "try everything and see what works" and instead came up with a solution I couldn't find anywhere else on Aximsite.
