who knew that you need to keep water in those suckers? I guess I've just become too accustomed to things working the way they're supposed to.
How old are you Cotytto? And how old was that tractor battery? There was a time when they all needed water and (nearly) every one knew it. Hmmm, maybe I'm just a lot older than I though.
BTW, nothing works the way it's supposed to when it's not used (or maintained) properly.

My new favorite quote (attrributed to Mark Twain, although i haven't been able to confirm the attribution or the wording):
"Those who don't read the newspaper are uninformed.
Those who do read the newspaper are missinformed."
Well, they also say that any electronic instrument (PDA, Cell Phone, etc) near a gasoline pump, turned on or otherwise, can theoretically ignite the gas fumes, lighting up the entire gas station like a scene from Lethal Weapon. That's what they SAY...but in reality...hasn't happened. Also, they say that any electronic device can cause a plane to crash...also hasn't happened. Oh yeah...and flourscent lights cause cancer in rats....

I personally have never seen a battery explode and I don't want to. However, my brother is a safety specialist for a major oil company and he was the one that told me the cell phone lighting gas fumes is true and has actually happened more often then any of us would like to think. Notice the warning next time you pump gas. I didn't even know there were warnings until he told me about it and I checked for myself.
Everyone has to keep in mind that you get what you pay for. We recently bought a no-name inexpensive 1800mAh battery and had Mugen Power test it and inspect it. We wanted to know how can people build a battery so cheaply. And that was the answer. Cheaply. The alleged Japan cells were counterfeit from China. The connections on the Circuit board were poorly done which increases the resistance and reduces lifetime. It also causes the battery to heat up during charging. The case was not a good fit with the Axim. It was slightly loose (ever so slight) but enough that it could cause intermittent connections with the Axim that will cause a hard reset.
All in all we were not impressed with the quality.
That's why we do not sell a no name brand but deal solely with Mugen Power products.
