Can't Sync Device Name In Use

I have been using 2 computers to sync for quite sometime and from time to time, usually after a problem w/ computer or X5, I cannot sync because Activesync doesn't recognize an existing partnership and attempts to set up a new one. When I try to use the existing Device Name it tells me that it already exists and I need a unique name. How can I re-establish the partnership?

Thanks

Delete the old partnership (in AS on your PC, Tools, Delete partnership) before reconnecting.

This will delete the My Documents folder on the PC, so if you are having "issues", be sure to back that up first. No worries if your PDA is still intact.

you can rename your "my documents" folder to the new ID. Then you won't loose any saved files. It's happened to me too.

I too came across a similar situation after doing my first hard reset, thanks to pocket breeze. I had to re-do all of my settings on active sync... I am able to synce to both my laptop and my wife's laptop wirelessly, now after messing around frequently. I found the help in Active sync to be quite helpful. Play around and I am sure you'll figure something out.
