Aw man- Ive been using gmail on my axim for a long time and just figured i would never be able to send mail, I can recieve OK but never could send. I found this post and was excited there for a second but none of the screenshots are viewable. just those rex X place holders. I tried in firefox also and there isnt anything, not even placeholders. any idea why I cant send mail (or see the screenshots)? I have tried just about every combination of settings and have made sure i have everything entered exactly like gmail's guide says dozens of times over the past 2 years.

I have a Samsung SCH-i730, it used to work until more recently..with these settings I'm not having a problem.

GMAIL: You must go to your gmail accounts online that you want to download to your phone, and enable that. The way to do that is to go to www.gmail.com, sign in to each account and do the following: Go to Settings-Forwarding and POP, select “Enable POP for all mail”. In the second option select “Keep Gmails Copy in the Inbox”. Disable forwarding should be selected, then click “Save changes”. Allow it to automatically connect! If it doesn’t connect, you don’t have the internet or what not, you can skip that part and enter the info manually:

Gmail incoming is pop.gmail.com:995 and the smtp outgoing is gmail.stmp.com:465. You must also rename the bottom name from POP3 to Gmail1. Any other Gmail accounts you can name Gmail2, Gmail3, etc..I only have two accounts I use on Gmail so I only add Gmail1 and Gmail2. Select Options, put 999 into the header limit, check Outgoing mail required authentication, and I personally have it check every 47 minutes because I don’t need an update on who emails me from there that badly.

Troubleshooting: I found that if you get too many emails in your gmail account it will stop allowing it to send emails to your i730 IF you checked the option for only downloading the last ___ days, but the way around that I found was to either uncheck that box OR better yet, to just let it automatically connect to the gmail servers with the port info and it should work fine.

Copy and pasted from my set up guide

So, we did, Susan - but there is a 'no picture' sign right on the top.
Is it important ?

the "no picture" at top is nothing (appeared after one of Chris' software upgrades)

the full article is there..... with one picture of google settings....
do you think more pictures/screenshots are needed for setup of gmail?
