jdh1415-looks like you've become our gmail/e-mail expert. Ain't it cool?

I'd better do that merge now or you won't know where to look.

I just move my read items to the "deleted items" by holding down the stylus and clicking move, this is a way to save them on your PocketPC.

Also on Gmail there is an option that you can check to archive your emails in gmail once read via POP3. I think if you tell it not to archive them then that would leave all messages unread on the Pocket PC. Just a thought. Ill have to try it.

I also just recieve whole emails. Save attatchments to the trusty Lexar SD.

I have a bit of trouble here people.
I have a x50v and i followed the guide to 100% (i think) and i Get connecting... downloading and immediately disconnecting and a message box saying: "Messages can not be downloaded to your mobile device. Make sure you are connected (i am) and thatyour email account settings are correct. Then, try to download messages again."

Whats wrong here?

hmm not sure what is wrong there. All i can tell you is to make sure you did not mistake typing in the server adresses in your x50.

i did this in the outgoing one and couldnt figure it out for a while till i looked really close and caught my mistake.

Have you tried to soft reset your device?

the problem was settings on gmail, you have to change to "enable poop only for new messages" and then it will work, if you set it back to all, its stops working.. wierd... (i know i accidentally wrote poop but im too tired to correct it)

great, thanks
That was most helpful with the last few tweaks. For anyone still wrestling with the dreaded download error *after* reading through the tutorial, double check these:

- set your gmail to archive after pop access
- set conservative download constraints at first, get message headers only, limit number of days' accrued messages to download, stick to under 5k

I found this forum via Google and was so pleased I signed up with Aximsite.

I keep emails in the inbox and it works fine, but i know every device is different so you might need to tweak it some just like you stated
